The feeling of being stuck and unable to move on from your past is too much

Despite what you have achieved, you’re beginning to struggle. It shows in some of your close relationships. The stress you’re experiencing is taking over, and you can’t seem to get a hold of it. Everyone around you sees how strong and put together you are, but deep down, you know you’re struggling. Most of the time, you go through the day feeling anxious and overwhelmed. This may have led to difficulty regulating emotions, memory problems, depression, anxiety, shame, and difficulty forming new relationships.
Now, you’ve begun to go down a spiral. You’re experiencing memories that haunt you, and it has become challenging to get out of bed or leave the house in the morning. What is worse is that you know the people in your life care about you, but it's hard to open up to them because you don’t want them to feel sorry for you. So you hide it away.

Types of Trauma You May Experience:
PTSD is the most common known form of trauma. It is often mentioned with veterans and those who have experienced traumatic events, such as natural disasters and injuries. PTSD and Complex PTSD on the surface seem to be similar; however, their origins are what set them apart. PTSD can be described as time-limited or short-lived. It fits into the category of Big T trauma.
Complex PTSD or C-PTSD, on the other hand, is long-term and can be made up of small traumas. It usually occurs in childhood, and the effects may follow you into adulthood. For example, those who may have lived in an abusive situation or live in war zones are likely to develop C-PTSD. This form of trauma also creates a different world outlook. For example, you may be more inclined to reevaluate your beliefs, self, and view of the world because of your experiences. You may also be more likely to have emotional flashbacks and struggle with emotional regulation.
Regardless of which form of PTSD and Trauma you’re dealing with, neither feels safe, and that’s why we are here to help.

Testimonials
“Despite my success on paper, I was drowning inside. Trauma therapy here helped me reconnect with peace, safety, and relationships I once thought were impossible.”
“I’ve been working with Jennifer since the fall of 2019. During my time with her she has introduced and worked with me on DBT, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and now we are several months into ketamine assisted therapy. I have learned coping mechanisms that help me in my daily life tasks and relationships, and I’m learning to embrace vulnerability while also holding firm boundaries. Her work has helped my healing journey from a relationship with a narcissistic partner as well.
Jennifer is warm, funny, empathetic, and a welcoming safe space. I feel encouraged to be curious about origins of my core beliefs and issues, something that was denied by other professionals in my past. I would and have recommended her to personal friends in search of help. We meet via Zoom which is convenient, allows me to be in the comfort of my own space. She also continued her practice during the pandemic lockdown, which was instrumental in me continuing my healing journey.”“Choosing a therapist can be difficult and scary. I’m so happy that I went with Jennifer after reading her bio. Jennifer is intuitive, experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate. Working with her is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!”
“I cannot recommend Jennifer strongly enough. She is extremely knowledgeable about trauma and its effects on the mind and body, as well as the ways to reverse its entrenched patterns. She does this in ways that foster grace, compassion, acceptance, and forward motion (rather than getting stuck in the past while exploring it). With her help, I’ve come to feel a sense of control over my life and my thinking, and my relationships have improved.
She has a deep and broad understanding of different approaches to therapy, so she can help clients in the ways that resonate for them. She brings ideas, resources, honesty, kindness, and healthy perspectives while always keeping the client in the driver’s seat.
Also, online therapy with her has been great. I didn’t know what I would think of it; I previously had done only in-person therapy. But it is so easy to fit into my schedule and so comfortable.
When you are ready to move forward, I strongly recommend working with Jennifer!”“I have been seeing Jennifer for almost a year now via telehealth sessions, and I am grateful every day she is a part of my healing journey team. I was looking for someone who is informed about BPD, cPTSD, and EMDR, and she was a perfect fit. Since working together, we have explored topics that I have found difficult in the past. Her breadth of knowledge, understanding, and supportive energy is special. She has provided me with multiple different treatment modalities, while always ensuring I am making decisions for me with her there to back me up. I trust her completely, and that is everything in a therapeutic relationship. Finding a therapist is hard, but I'd recommend Jennifer to anyone. <3“
