About Winding Road Therapy Group
"Every day is a winding road…"
At Winding Road Therapy Group, we believe that healing is not a straight line. Life’s twists and turns, though often painful or uncertain, can also be rich with meaning, growth, and transformation. Inspired by Sheryl Crow’s evocative song, our name reflects the belief that even in life’s most difficult moments, we can find clarity, connection, and direction.
The song “Everyday Is a Winding Road” was born out of Crow’s experience with the emotional struggles of her friend Paul Hester, former drummer of Crowded House. Hester, who had been navigating his own mental health journey, left the band mid-tour, telling his bandmate, “Every day is a winding road.” Crow later wrote the song while grappling with the complexity of his departure—and, years later, his tragic death by suicide. What began as a tribute to his vibrant yet troubled spirit evolved into a broader meditation on the highs and lows we all face, and the quiet resilience required to keep going.
In many ways, the spirit of that song mirrors the work we do. Our therapists honor each client’s unique path and offer support for those navigating depression, trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, grief, or simply the search for deeper meaning in life. Whether you are feeling lost, stuck, hopeful, or healing, we meet you where you are—and walk alongside you from there.
As Crow once said, “Some songs resonate for me more powerfully than they did when they were written… Songs like that seem to recreate themselves, and in a perfect world, bring solace to some people.” That is our hope, too: to create space where people feel seen, understood, and empowered to move a little bit closer to feeling fine.
